Fresh Breath Clinic
Having fresh breath is important in everyday life giving us confidence in the presence of others and a feeling of good health.
Bad breath is caused by either gum disease, nose and sinus problems, smoking, a pungent diet, digestive problems, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease and dry mouth syndrome.
When bad breath is due to gum disease and poor oral hygiene this occurs because sulphurous gases are released by bacteria found on the tongue and teeth. This can usually be eradicated with a good hygiene programme including visits to the hygienists, regular brushing ,flossing and the use of a tongue scraper.
If the bad breath is due to other circumstances referral to your GP may be required.
