Diamond Apex Invisalign providers

Invisalign is one of the most popular teeth straightening treatments around the world used to straighten teeth and correct bite issues. Unlike traditional metal braces that use wires and brackets, Invisalign aligners are made of clear, BPA-free plastic that’s custom-fitted to a patient's teeth.

Designed to be virtually invisible, Invisalign is a popular option for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without the noticeable appearance of traditional braces.

The Invisalign process

Invisalign is a lifestyle-friendly teeth straightening option for anyone who doesn’t want to wear traditional fixed braces.

The number of aligners required and the length of treatment time will depend on your individual needs and the severity of your orthodontic issues.

1

Free consultation

The Invisalign process usually begins with a free consultation with our highly experienced dentist, who will evaluate your teeth and determine whether you’re a good candidate for treatment.

2

Digital scans

If Invisalign is a good option for you, we’ll take digital scans or impressions of your teeth, which are used to create your customised treatment plan, including length of treatment and projected outcomes. This means we can start planning your treatment on the same day we meet you!

3

Clear aligners

The digital scans will then be used to create a series of clear aligners, which you’ll wear for about two weeks at a time before switching to the next aligner in the series. Over time, the aligners will gradually shift your teeth into alignment.

4

Maintenance

You’ll need to wear your aligners for about 22 hours a day, which means only removing them to eat, brush and floss, and clean your aligners. Most people hardly notice they’re wearing them after a couple of weeks, and you’ll have a beautiful new smile in no time!

Invisalign vs braces

While traditional braces are great for some people, Invisalign aligners offer several differences.

Invisalign aligners are removable and can be taken out for special occasions and important events, making them a flexible and lifestyle-friendly option. As a result, Invisalign allows for fewer in-practice visits, giving you the ability to change your aligners frequently in the comfort of your own home. If you opt for fixed braces, you will require regular in-practice visits with your dentist to tighten the wire.

Invisalign aligners are custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth, providing a comfortable, personalised fit that will guide your teeth into their predicted outcome. The difference with braces is that they consist of metal wires and brackets that are bonded to the teeth. Which are adjusted periodically to guide tooth movement.

Invisalign may not be suitable for all types of orthodontic issues, and patients need to be diligent about wearing them as directed in their treatment plan to achieve the best result.

Invisalign: your questions answered

  • Is Invisalign more effective than traditional braces?

Invisalign can be just as effective as traditional braces for treating a wide range of dental issues, including crooked teeth, gaps, and bite problems. However, the effectiveness of Invisalign depends on the individual case and the patient's adherence to the treatment plan.

  • How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The length of Invisalign treatment can vary depending on the individual case, but most treatments take about 12 to 18 months to complete.

  • How often do I need to wear the aligners?

Invisalign aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours a day, and should only be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.

  • Is Invisalign painful?

Some patients may experience minor discomfort or pressure during the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners, but this typically subsides quickly.

  • Can anyone get Invisalign?

Invisalign is generally suitable for teenagers and adults with mild to moderate dental issues. However, more complex cases may require traditional braces or other orthodontic treatments.

  • How do I care for my Invisalign aligners?

To keep your aligners clean and clear, you should rinse them in lukewarm water before and after each use, and brush them gently with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Avoid using hot water or abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the aligners.
